I started weight training by myself but eventually hurt my back, so I was looking for a personal trainer or group training to learn the correct form and reduce the chances of being injured again That is how I joined the group training lead by Jonny. Jonny’s training was more than I expected. He taught me all the basic lifts (dead lifts, squats, pull-ups and bench press), workouts with kettlebells, exercises with the TRX, how to improve running on the assault AirRunner and the turf, olympic lifting and an action plan to relieve my low back pain. Jonny had a progression for each workout so it was always challenging but not impossible, perfect for constantly improving. Jonny pays attention to warm ups for the workout, helps to make improvements in mobility and technique of each lift so I can improve my personal records. Jonny always brought a good mood to the classes, some jokes and good music. Jonny’s classes didn’t only help me to build muscles, improve mobility, and lift heavy weights, they were also super fun.

Jonathan has been my trainer for the last 1.5 years. During this time, I attended small group training classes with him on average 4 times a week. I went from not being able to do a push up to being able to do multiple pull-ups and deadlifting nearly double my body weight.  I also noticed a physical transformation. It was most visible when I went shopping and for the first time in years had an easy time finding cute clothes that flattered my body.

 However, the biggest transformation was the confidence I have about exercising. Prior to working out with Jonathan, gym was not a regular part of my life. I didn't know what to do at the gym and found it hard to make it a priority in my life. He patiently taught me the basics over the course of the first few months and since then has kept me engaged by teaching me new skills and helping me refine the old ones. He was encouraging throughout - holding me accountable in attending gym but being understanding when I had to take days off. Now, I feel like gym is an indispensable part of my life and a place I feel comfortable and confident.

Jonny is a fabulous coach! I had the pleasure of training with Jonny for ~18 months in a small group setting and I absolutely loved the community he built with the group. I'd never gone to the gym more consistently than when I was training with Jonny. He has such a way of motivating you to reach your fitness goals in a friendly, personable coaching style, and his expert knowledge guarantees that you will reach those goals. During my time training with Jonny, I lost nearly 30 pounds, reduced my body fat by 7%, and gained muscle in places I didn't even know I could build muscle. Jonny is a great fitness coach!  I worked with him for a couple of years in various small group formats and Jonny did a great job organizing and executing every session.  Jonny does a great job of sharing the goals for the class. If you need to modify an exercise to accommodate an injury, no problem. Jonny will have alternatives that will work for you.
Finally... I have to say that Jonny truly cares.  He wants you to be the best you can be every day... but knows that it is up to you to determine what the right level of training and commitment works best for you.  I'm a big fan... Jonny is the best!

Jonathan has been my fitness coach for almost 2 years. I started off as a beginner, working out 2 days a week, when Jonathan gradually exposed me to various strength routines which led to an increase in my strength and confidence. After a couple of months I was doing 5 days a week, which included a combo of strength training and cardio workout. He is a qualified, skilled, thoughtful and creative coach who has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He knows just how and when to encourage and when to push, without overdoing it.

I have worked with Jonny for several years and have seen my own fitness as well as my understanding of how to be fit and free from injuries continuously improve. Jonny works hard for his clients, seeking to come up with new and different workouts each time pushing each one a little bit further and a little bit further. When we did benchmarking annually, it was always a pleasant surprise to see the previous year's goals easily surpassed.

Most of my time spent with Jonny was a group training setting and he has a remarkable gift for developing a sense of community amongst a group. He will be funny, he will be goofy and he will also demonstrate just how much he cares about each person.

I've attended coach Jonny's fully body strength class for over two years. He is a very professional and highly skilled coach. He always keeps his knowledge up to date and regularly modifies the workout programs to reflect recent trends in fitness and workout industry/research community. His workout plans comprises all phases of warm up, primary training, cool down and dessert (award for whom could survive his intensive movements). He plans accordingly for all phases of Foundation phase, Hypertrophy phase, and Firming phase, with an evaluation at the end of each cycle. Even though I attended his group classes, I felt I've been trained by a personal instructor since he closely monitors progress of each individual and updates/modifies plans for each person depending on their body/performance constraints. Additionally, he brings humor into his class so you never feel rigidness or boredom while sweating at his core intensive trainings. Under his instruction I've become a much stronger person, my body is much more swift now, I noticed muscles in some parts of my body that I didn't even know existed, and lost around 10+ lbs (in conjunction with diet). For the first time in my life I have realistic hope to grow my six pack. Highly recommend coach Jonny for anyone who wants to see real progress in training.

Coach Jonny does more than just teach great classes, he was able to build a community that held us all accountable to ourselves and each other. He helped me prioritize fitness in my life, especially as a new mom it is so difficult to make time for myself and he always welcomed me to classes and training sessions and made it convenient for me! He told me once, "remember, fitness is not once or twice a week, it's a lifestyle." That really helped me prioritize running out to attend classes. 

I can’t express enough how grateful I am to have worked with Jonny! He helped me see results over the past few months. Jonny asked me what I wanted to do with my fitness journey, and I just wanted to lose the baby weight. I got so much more out, though. Along with getting leaner, he helped me work on building strength and re-shape my body to get back into shape. He also pays a lot of attention to teaching the proper form and technique in weight lifting and overall good health, and as a new HIIT student and professional yogi, that was very important to me! We also incorporated Yoga throughout to get a good stretch between weight training sessions. 

When I started seeing Jonny, I was about 12 months postpartum, and from then to now (~ 7months) I feel much stronger (I can easily pick up my 30lb. twins) and have seen great results in my body composition! Classes with Jonny have helped me feel more comfortable in my body, thus a happier and healthy mom for my family!

I have been training with Jonny for more than 18 months, and in these months I have gone from "how much does a barbell weigh?" to -- loading up more and more weights (calculating it) and lifting it!

Until I started training in a small group setting with Jonny, I swear I thought I couldn't wake up early in the morning to workout. But something about his classes and coaching made me show up at 6:15 most of the weekdays! I am never going back from having this feeling of - accomplishing a great start in the morning, having just enough sore muscles during the day to be proud of my lifts and boring my husband to death about all the different movements I learned :) 

 What I enjoyed the most was - 

  • The variety in the structure of workout and variations in different exercises - it was never the same expected and boring thing;

  • The right mix of seriousness and humor in his style;

  • A path for progression - so it was never too easy or too hard no matter how little or experienced one is;

  • The perfect balance between pushing your boundaries, and accommodating individual needs of taking it slow 

All of this ensured that his workouts keeps us on the path of constant improvement - but most importantly they are always fun. I highly recommend him to any and everyone - he caters to everyone's individual journeys and sets you up for your definition of success - whatever that might be :)

Jonny is knowledgeable and supportive for people who are new to the gym, yet I found he is also an incredible coach for people who have been training for a while. 

I met Jonny after my first competition, in which I went too hard on my deadlift and pulled my back. As an active and frequently hitting the gym type of person, I gained some knowledge and experience on power lifting. Little did I knew getting injury could throw off the equation: my back got so tight regardless my stretching effort, and I was not able to deadlift the weight I used to do 6-8 reps before even though I let myself take it easy for months. I was so grateful I get to meet and have Jonny as my coach. He was extremely helpful in showing me proper stretching techniques and how often I should do. Moreover, I could feel my body resist to lifting heavy even though it was physically recovered. Jonny guided me through a way to ease back in. My body/muscle also occasionally got tight or very sore from a hard training, and I always turned to Jonny for technique feedback and recovery recommendations.  

I am so glad and thankful to see my fitness progress again. Thank you, Jonny!

I met Jonny at work where we he was the coach in charge of conducting group training activities for employees at my company. When I first enrolled in Jonny's Total Body Strength group classes, I was getting back to working out on a regular basis after a break of almost 10 years. Between a shoulder surgery, grad school, and having 2 kids, exercise took a back seat to other priorities in life. 

So naturally at first, I was apprehensive getting back into the gym, but I knew I had to get back into the mode of exercising and I couldn't have asked for a better coach than Jonny at the time. When I enrolled into his classes, he made me feel welcome and helped me ease back into a regular mode of exercising. Even after having not worked out for such a long period, I quickly fell into a nice rhythm and after a few weeks I started seeing the results, which kept me even more motivated to continue going to his classes. When I started working out on a regular basis, I just felt more energetic during the day, the little aches I would have all over my body for no apparent reason disappeared and I became a happier person in general in life, and I credit Jonny for motivating me to keep coming back. He always changed up the classes regularly to keep them interesting and the workouts fresh to hit different parts of the body in different ways. 

Eventually in addition to Total Body Strength classes, I also enrolled in Jonny's Metabolic Challenge group classes, which were high energy and a lot of fun and offered something different in terms of fitness goals. Jonny also periodically sent motivational emails to his students which were full of good information and kept you in the mode of thinking about health and fitness constantly. I highly recommend Jonny as a fitness coach, health expert and a friend!
